The 8th Short Film Festival of Asian School Of Media Studies is now fixed for 13th and 14th of August, 2012 at Marwah Studios Campus to project and highlight the works of students of ASMS.

“The department of Cinema, Multi Media, Mass Communication and Electronic Media will be presenting their films in these two days. The festival will have fictions, documentaries, music videos, advertisements as entries” said Ashok Tyagi Jt. Director ASMS and Festival Director.

The committee consisting of journalist, film makers, educators and socialites will be selecting the final films for screening on the final day. The opening and closing day will be celebrated in the presence of big wigs of Indian Cinema.

“The festival is dedicated to the 100 years of Cinema. The best selection of films will be participating in National and International Festivals” said Sandeep Marwah Director Of Asian School Of Media Studies.

Friendship Day celebrations take place on the first Sunday of August every year. The tradition of dedicating a day in honor of friends began in US in 1935. Gradually the festival gained popularity and today Friendship Day is celebrated in large number of countries including India.

Marwah Studios which is the birth place of already popular different film festivals in the country including AAFT festival of short digital Films, ASMS Short Film Festival, International Festival Of Cellphone Cinema and Global Film Festival Noida now join hands with International Sufi Film Festival to be held in Ajmer this September.

Large preparations are already on at the holy city of Ajmer for the festival which is going to be the part of 2nd International Sufi Festival India 2012. “We are very happy to join hands with Marwah Studios as they have complete experience of organizing international level film festivals” said Gulsha Begum Chairperson of Divine Abode and festival directorof ISFI.

WPDRF, World Peace Development And Research Foundation an international body of Asian Society of Film And Television has planned a World conference on the subject of Cooperative movement in the World and especially in India informed Sandeep Marwah of Marwah Studios and President of WPDRF.

The venue of the International conference will be New Delhi and will be for two days inclusive of two seminars each day. Every seminar will be followed by an Award function. The awards will be finalized by a separate committee consisting of high profiled people from all strata of life.

Marwah Studios- a creative enterprises was founded and established by Sandeep Marwah in 1988 after the allotment of land by Noida Authority. It took three years to construct the building and to come into production.

Sandeep Marwah President Marwah Studios Noida was nominated as one of the 900 persons of the country who had the privileged to run with the queen’s Baton during the national relay during xixth Commonwealth Games, Delhi in India. The run was on the central road of Jaipur from Vidhan Sabha to Hawa Mahal.

United Nation has fixed 7th July as International Cooperative Day and 2012 has been declared as the Cooperative Year. The idea is to highlight the need and benefits of cooperative movement which has already a successful pattern of developing countries with large number of people’s cooperation.

“A large number of fake cooperative societies are betraying their depositors trust and their undesirable activities need to be checked without delay. The state govt. would soon amend the Maharashtra cooperative act to make it strict” said Prithiviraj Chauhan Chief Minister of Maharashtra during the International seminar on Cooperatives held at Shirdhi.

Gulshaa Begums art draws its spirit from the classical raga Malhaar theme With the splash of rain, colors and musical hues. Archana Tela represented the theme of monsoon colors in her paintings.

She graduated in Film / TV Production & Direction from “The Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT)”, NOIDA. In addition, she acquired a Master’s degree in English Literature; Preeti worked as a senior newsreader with Bhopal Doordarshan for fifteen years. Thereafter, she was the Head of Programming at BIG 92.7 FM-Radio, the initiative of Reliance Ad labs- at Bhopal.

Over the past decade and a half she has produced TV software across genres (documentaries, tele-films, TV Series, Variety Entertainment shows, Ad-films for different channels of Doordarshan and others. To date, Preeti has produced over 50 non-fiction and fiction films, besides producing TV series & Corporate films.

Her name features among the leading women of Madhya Pradesh and is respected for her noteworthy contribution to her state and country. In 2006, her maiden Play “Azeezan” (based on the first war of independence-1857) was staged at Bharat Bhawan, Bhopal. The film won enormous awards including Best Editing to Namrata Rao and best sound design to Pritam das in 56th Film Fare Awards. The film won best film of the year Stardust Award, and won best Award for sound recording in 6th edition of Apsara Film & Television Producers Guild Awards.

AAFT has been in existence now for 20 years and has churned out 8000 media professionals from 89 countries of the World in different disciplines. “it was 22nd July 1993 when we started the first batch of this premier film school and trust me no looking back” said Sandeep Marwah.

  While sharing his experience with ASMS students Shams Tahir Khan emphasized on sensible reporting which should be cross checked by the proven facts and then only a report should be broadcasted. Moreover he said a reporter should be sensitive enough to handle the crime news, specially related to murder and rape cases. 

 Crime reporting has been a very attractive beat for young reporters whosoever are entering into the profession of journalism but at the same time they should be conscious of its effects. A reporter should not be carried away with the subject. 

Students were thrilled and spellbound. They asked tons of questions related to crime reporting. The veteran crime reporter replied to every query and assured the students a beginors help. The workshop was conducted by Sushil Bharti HOD Electronic Media Department.

A heavy weight seminar on the occasion of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, The 17th May, was organized at PHD Chamber of Commerce to highlight the issues suggested by the United Nation under Entertainment and Media Committee in association with Marwah Studios.
