Shooting on the project was suspended for over two hours, as adjustments were made to the specially constructed set on London’s Southbank.
“Shah Rukh and Katrina were already on the unit base. They did not delay the shoot,” a source explained. “It was due to last-minute changes that were made to the set at the request of Aditya Chopra and Yash Chopra that the filming was delayed.”
The Hindi film stars had already completed a number of scenes on the love story in Shoreditch, and at a location close to Brick Lane, earlier in the day.
Following previous incidents where fans mobbed the actors, and unofficial images leaked from the production, the extended delay saw large crowds gather at the site.
A production insider revealed: “The scene would easily give away the story of the film. Katrina’s manager, Shah Rukh’s bodyguard, as well as crew members, were constantly stopping people from taking pictures as one picture from another day has already gone viral on the internet.”
Khan joined actors Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at the British Film Institute on the Southbank, during the 2010 red carpet premiere of Raavan.
The film continues Khan’s release pattern tradition of hitting the box office during Diwali.
