Ever since Aishwarya Rai walked out of Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine earlier this year due to her pregnancy, her fans have been waiting to know what her next film would be.

Well, Rajkumar Santoshi has already expressed his desire to cast Aishwarya Rai in his next, but it seems that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has stolen the march by roping Ash in for his long pending project Bajirao Mastani. And the scoop is that the movie might star Shahrukh Khan in the lead role opposite Aishwarya.

Bhansali reportedly had a meeting with Aishwarya at Jalsa and she has not declined the offer, which means that she is ready to come on board.

However, since Aishwarya Rai gave birth to a daughter in November and she need to be at the baby’s side, the film won’t go on the floors soon.

In fact, we hear it might roll as late as the second half of 2012.

If Aishwarya Rai indeed decides to make a comeback with Bhansali’s film, it would be her fourth film with Shahrukh. She has previously worked with Shahrukh in Josh, Devdas and Mohabbatein.
