Tell us about the Debut phase of your life :

I feel, I’m in the debut phase of my life because I’m heading for my Telugu & Kannada debut’s this year! Hopefully .. I will find opportunity to do Tamil , Malyalam and

Bollywood at the right time as well.

Feel’s privileged to cross the barriers of language to reach to the regional movie audiences…what more can an actor wish for!

What is  ”Priyudu” about?

Priyudu is a college based rom-com. It’s a fun-filled campus love-story with a lot of comedy and lovely songs. I play the role of Madhu who falls in love with Karthik, enacted by Varun. And it’s all about them discovering the meaning of love!

The story reminds us that love brings in a lot of happiness in our life and at the same time a lot of emotions, which include pain too. The emotional bond which my character Madhu shares with her dad… is also very beautifully depicted by director Sravan.

In Priyudu, my character will be seen wearing trendy Kurti’s throughout the film but dressed in smart looking short skirts in the songs. It’s a beautiful balance between the girl next door who has her values in place but can also look smart and glamorous. I have two solo songs in Priyudu and three more with Varun, picturised in exotic locations.

Do you have  any Funny memories?

For some strange reason director Sravan and his team were under the impression that I cannot dance! So they were really nervous because our film has very good

songs composed by debutant music director Mohan Jona. Though I was confident about my dancing skills…I didn’t let the director know because I didn’t know how high his expectations were!

On the day of the song shoot, when I started dancing….the whole unit was taken a back and was totally surprised at my dancing skills.

Now that we have shot all the songs… the director is really thrilled with the outcome.

So Tell Us How did Priyudu Happen?

Debutant Director Sravan saw my pictures on the cover of a magazine and enquired about me, and I met him in Hyderabad. He had rejected 600 girls I’m
told before he selected me for Priyudu as the girl’s role has equal footing with the hero.

Now not many may know, but you are the sister of Bollywood Star Amrita Rao. Tell us about her support in this for you:

Well..being Amrita’s sister I have learnt a lot about the film industry through her experience. What to expect out of the industry and what not to. And if I am ever in doubt, Amrita is always there to sort me out.

Journalism taught me about media and made me a writer, modeling helped me to be more camera friendly, acting is now teaching me to discover myself as an artist and I would now like to explore the art more and discover my own inner hidden talents and not get type-casted with one particular type of role I play. I would like to be remembered as a versatile actress …

Tell us about your onscreen chemistry with Varun Sandesh:

My on-screen chemistry with Varun Sandesh reminds me of my elder sister Amrita Rao’s onscreen chemistry with Shahid Kapoor, especially in their campus blockbuster love story Ishq Vishk.

I love Varun’s style of acting, it’s effortless and I find it extremely easy to work with him during shots.
