Mere Brother Ki Dulhan – B.O Report
Mere Brother Ki Dulhan took a good opening of 80% at multiplexes all over. Business at single screen was lower at 50-55%. The film was very strong in the Delhi/NCR area even though heavy rain affected in some parts of Delhi NCR. The film should score well at the box office over the weekend as it has decent reports.
Mere Brother Ki Dulhan has had a good first weekend of 25.50 crore nett as per early estimates. The film has scored well at multiplexes so circuits like Mumbai, Delhi/UP, East Punjab and Mysore have very good business. Business at single screens is average. The best business business has come in the Delhi/NCR area which Delhi/UP likely to come in around the 6 crore nett mark and East Punjab around 2.75 crore nett.
Mere Brother Ki Dulhan had big competition from blockbuster Bodyguard which kept the best single screens in week two and that makes the initial business of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan look even more impressive.
The film is a success and Monday will determine how far it can go, a steady Monday and it can close the week at around 40 crore nett.
Next week will see the release of Mausam which has a similar target audience so collections are likely to be hit hard in week two.
Mere Brother Ki Dulhan held up well on Monday with business around the 3.75-4 crore nett mark on Monday. The four day business is around 29 crore nett and the week should go to around 37-38 crore nett.
The film is doing well in Delhi/UP ans East Punjab but on Monday it held up very well at places like CI and Rajasthan,
Mere Brother Ki Dulhan keeps the phenomenal run going at the box office which started in June. From June there has been eight box office winners with only Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap and Aarakshan emerging the disappointments out of the major releases. An 8/10 ratio with major releases over a three month period has probably not been seen since the early eighties.
