ANOKHI’s 4th Annual Star-Studded Awards Gala Proved To Be Sexy, Successful & The Most Glamorous South Asian Event of the Year!

Anokhi Media Corp. Celebrated the Vibrant and Diverse Global South Asian Success Story and Raised Over $17,000 For Canadian Red Cross In Aid Of Haitian Relief

Toronto, Ontario (February 9, 2010) – Award-winning ANOKHI Magazine’s 7th Anniversary Special Edition revealing it’s ‘2010 Annual Sexy & Successful List’ was unveiled  with much pomp and show with ANOKHI’s 4th Annual Celebrity Awards Gala on Friday February 5th 2010, to an attendance in excess of 1,500 people at Toronto’s premier event venue, The Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex.

The Sexy & Successful Awards, Designer Fashion Showcase, Entertainment extravaganza and VIP After Party proved once again to be the most glamorous South Asian event of the year!

The appearance of Bollywood Fashion designer Ashley Rebello and his 1st North American runway show proved to be a major highlight of this year’s Gala.

As always, ANOKHI celebrated the achievements and contributions of South Asians in Western society with an Oscar style Awards Gala, where amoung the recipients were IT Guru, Gurbaksh “G” Chahal, Vitaminwater executive, Rohan Oza, DesiHits! Founder, Anjula Acharia-Bath, Bollywood fashion designer, Ashley Rebello, Iron Man co-star, actor Faran Tahir, ‘Bollywood Hero’ co-star, actress, Pooja Kumar and Canadian Olympian, Emanuel Sandhu. The entire list of Awards presented detailed as per attached document, entitled: ‘ANOKHI’s S&S Awards 2010’.

Other highlight’s of the evening were the performances of award recipients and musical artists, Imran Khan, Anjulie, Farahri, Choclair, Firelion, with a surprise appearance by International recording artist Raghav. The After Party was on fire with a special performance by UK’s DJ Kayper who kept the party alive until well after 2.30am.

Anokhi Media Corp. President/CEO, Raj Girn and ANOKHI Magazine’s Editor-In-Chief, Hina P. Ansari both addressed the crowd, speaking respectively about the ANOKHI Brand and Magazine. Ms. Girn announced that with the start of 2010, ANOKHI Magazine will increase it’s frequency from 4 to 6 issues a year, to applause and cheers. She went on to say that “I’m confident that tonight will be much more than an event, but an experience we will all remember for years to come!”. Overwhelmed by the amazing turnout of ANOKHI supporters and fans, she went on to say, “I want to thank everyone who helped make this evening the resounding success that we just knew it would be, and a special thanks to all of our wonderful sponsors for their support.” Liberty Group, Trump International, DNA, CDPC, Chez Leeloo, Etihad Airways, Hilton Hotels, Exotica Limousines, Design 2 Décor Inc, Chair Couture, Moroccanoil, Faces Cosmetics, Fiorio, Coco Models, Icon Models, S Models, Shanu & Karim, a slew of promotional and product sponsors.

Ms. Girn also extended her appreciation to attending members of the media for their coverage of ANOKHI’s Annual Gala, and thanked the award recipients, performers, show hosts and event team, without who’s ongoing support, the Gala would not have been possible. In a final comment, she announced donations raised for the Canadian Red Cross’s Haiti Fund which has since increased to well over $17,000. A check was presented to Mr. Conrad Sauve CEO & Secretary General.

Everyone in attendance left revelling in what proved, without a shadow of a doubt, to truly being a first-hand experience that represented the dynamic value and diversity of the integrated and affluent South Asian Community that ANOKHI’s multi-platform Brand represents.
