Dusky beauty Deepika Padukone, who is playing the vital character of a uber cool chick in the film ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’ had to sacrifice her long tresses to get the modern look for the film. Deepika is seen sporting short hair and is yet looking gorgeous in this excitedly awaited movie. But to convince Deepika to cut her hair wasn’t an easy job for debut director Vijay Lalwani.

Vijay Lalwani, who had a real tough time convincing Deepika to cut short her hair says, “As Deepika’s character is very bold, modern and very outgoing so I thought that her long locks would not go with the character.And firstly I was a bit hesitant to approach Deepika for this as for any girl chopping down her long locks would be difficult, as it takes years to grow back to that length again.

But at last, I managed to convince her somehow.” Well! Deepika Padukone is looking stunning in her new avatar, her new look will really compliment her performance that is soon to come on 26th February 2010.
