Janet Jackson makes appearance at BET awards for brother Michael

3Sister of superstar Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson appeared at the BET awards Sunday night to commemorate her older brother who passed away last Thursday. Janet began by saying how Michael was an artist to most but to her he was a brother first and foremost and will be missed by the entire family.

According to Janet she was appointed by the Jackson family to speak on behalf of the family and represent the deceased superstar as the BET awards dedicated the entire show to Michael and his spectacular career which spanned over 40 years.

Following Janet’s heart felt speech Jamie Fox and R&B Superstar Ne-yo sang  their rendition of the famous Jacksons song “I’ll be there” which was a big hit for the Jackson 5 many decades ago.

For some the BET awards which was billed as ‘a tribute to Michael’, did not live up to the hype surrounding the event, however to others it was just the right amount of ‘tribute’ without overshadowing the entire show which was after all an awards ceremony.

Nonetheless, Janet’s appearance was a big surprise and Jackson fans around the world were happy to see her.

I must disagree with the writer. I thought it was a very good show. It was very entertaining especially the return of all the older groups. It was a tribute that was fitting to Michael Jackson. I applaud BET and all the performers involved. Everyone stepped up the game and made the show a success and fitting for a POP Star!

I just want to say that when I heard Michael Jackson had passed I was heart broken , he is a legend and he will never be forgotten. Seeing Janet Jackson on the BET stage was so sad but it kind of brought somewhat of closure to us to see how the family is dealing with MJ’s passing and it show that we are sharing the pain together and its a beautiful thing.
