WLC College India celebrated Chimera 2009- its 8th annual fashion show, exhibiting the ensembles of the graduating students of the Fashion School on Sunday, 21st June in Mumbai. The event, held at the Hotel Hyatt Regency, Sahar was attended by luminaries from the Fashion fraternity and the glitterati of the city.
‘Chimera 2009’ was choreographed by one of India’s famous choreographers Ms. Achala Sachdev.
Twelve of Mumbai’s supermodels; Nethra Raghuraman, Shonal Rawat, Sucheita, Kanishtha, Kavita, Michelle, Poppy, Hemangi, Shubhra and Sidhura featured at the fashion show. Top male models – Bruno and Vidyut also displayed collections of the graduating students of Fashion Technology. Hugo D’Souza, the emcee for the evening, gave the young designers a feisty introduction in his inimitable style.
Chimera is the annual celebration of the creativity of the students and applauds their entry into the professional world as young fashion designers, stylists, fashion merchandisers, illustrators, in fact, in all areas and nuances of Fashion! Earlier on, the collections had been critically reviewed and evaluated by an independent external jury comprising of highly respected names from the fashion world, such as noted and highly experienced designers James Ferreira, Ashley Rebello, Lina Tipnis, Archana Kochhar, Manish Kelshikar, former head of design, Shoppers Stop and Javed Choudhary, art director, fashion illustrator and creative consultant.
Shaina NC, Viren Shah of Roopam, Pradeep Hirani of Kimaya, Vasant Bhandari of UB Group, TV personality Roza Catalano, designer Babita Malkani, Archana Kochhar, Ashley Rebello, Lascelles Simons, Aryan Vaid, Vikram Phadnis, Lina Tipnis, Asif Bhamla, Manish Kelshikar, Gauri Babbar, Drashta Sarvaiyya and Mika were some of the special guests for the evening and added further glamour to the show with their presence.
