China gives thumbs up to ‘Slumdog Millionaire’
Danny Boyle’s multiple Oscar-winning ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ has got the nod from the censors in China who have allowed 2,000 cinemas to show the film.
Contactmusic.com reports the rags-to-riches story will be one of the 20 major foreign movies that China will import this year.
Top Hollywood movies miss out on the booming Chinese cinema market because of the annual quota while others are weeded out due to strict censorship processes.
Boyle will attend the movie’s premiere in Beijing March 23.
