Rahul Bose

After flattering the audience with mind blowing performance in the movies like JHANKAAR BEATS, PYAAR KE SIDE EFFECTS. Rahul Bose now is all set for his forthcoming movie SHAURYA. He gets talking about his role and the expectation form the movie with Glamsham.comWhat does SHAURYA mean to you?

According to me SHAURYA is about following a certain set of principles and not deviating form them at any cost .I think everyone at some point of time have to compromise on the principles to move ahead in life. Not just that at the end of the day it is also a fight with yourself.

Tell us something about your role in SHAURYA?

I play Siddharth Chaudhary, a rebellious, adventurous, immature, intelligent and reckless young army lawyer. I am referred as Sid in the movie. I and Akash Kapoor (Jaaved Jafferi) are close friends, lawyers and ambitious individuals, who have contrasting views on life. A time comes, when we both stand opposite to each other in a court room and in the process, lot of our weakness comes out, which will be interesting for the audience to watch.

Can we expect you hitting thefloor?

Yes, I will be seen dancing in a night club in the movie. It so happened that the choreographer was to train me for the dance sequence but in two minutes I realized that I wont be able to do it and finally I danced without a choreographer which is crazy, but truly in the character. Overall I think it is a descent attempt by me to dance.

How was it working with the cast of SHAURYA?

I had different experiences with everyone for instance take K.K. Menon, we know each other since long time now and we gel easily with each other. I can’t say that we were pushing (competing) each other but it was more like a ‘Jugalbandi’.

Minissha Lamba- I think she is bright, smart, educated and funny and to get a person of all these combination is good.

Jaaved Jafferi – Very calm, funny and unselfish actor I have come across. I have come to know him as a person while working with him.

What is your expectation from the movie?

Zero, I don’t keep any expectation from any of my movies. I think I have done my best and now it is in the hands of the audiences to decide if they make it a super hit or a flop! There is a saying ‘when you finish a game leave your body on the field and don’t run away’ that’s what I follow. I don’t believe in God and so I say my work is a place of worship for me.

How is Samar Khan as a director?

I think he knows his work well. He wanted to make a movie, which will give him the respect and credit in the industry and I feel that this movie will be successful in wooing the hearts of the audiences.

Is the movie about army?

Well the movie is not just about the Army, but it is more of an Army courtroom drama. It is a formula film but the challenge here is to bring the character live with lot of emotions.

Future plans?

I have around nine movies in hand, which are JAPANESE WIFE- art film by Aparna Sen, Santosh Sivan’s -DASTAAN the shooting for which is just completed, THE WHISPERS, MAAN GAYE MUGHAL-E-AZAM, BUBBLE GUM, MUMBAI CHAKA CHAK is a movie by Suniel Shetty, GHOST GHOST NA RAHA ,BEFORE THE RAINS and many more

Any prank that you played while shooting on the sets of SHAURYA?

To be very frank, I am a very relaxed and a calm person. I don’t play pranks on any one, but I have enjoyed shooting for SHAURYA. After completing my shots I used to relax myself by reading books.

Are you also planning to do some thing in Hollywood?

BEFORE THE RAINS is a Hollywood venture it will be soon seen in England and America.

What would be your dream role?

Before I die I would love to do an action film in fact I have got two offers for the same, lets see if things work out….

Here’s wishing Rahul Bose all the best for SHAURYA!!!
