One always assumed that Akshay Kumar was a hot favourite all over India. But it seems that the makers of the animation flick, Jumbo, do not think so. They seem to have placed their trust in Yuvraj Singh.
If reports are to be believed, then cricketing idol Yuvraj has been roped in to be the voiceover for the Punjabi version of the animation movie. It seems that the decision was taken after the cricketer’s explosive performance against the English team recently. So while Akshay will be the voice for the Hindi version, the makers have decided to drop him for the Punjabi one. This, despite the fact that in trade circles it is being said that Akshay has dethroned Shah Rukh Khan for the number one spot. His Singh Is Kinng swept the overseas audiences as only a SRK starrer can do. According to the production house, Percept, while Akshay can undoubtedly speak great Punjabi, they decided to go with Akshay because of his great fan following in North India. It is being seen as a move to bring back the audiences into the theatres. The production house is hoping to cash in on the cricket crazy jantaa and lure them into theatres.
